Willem DaFoe, Quentin Crisp + St. Eve

You may have heard of the infamous Galinsky. He's premiering some
work with famous people in it and he's kindly added me to the bill.
He likes my work and I'm a lucky girl ;->. See details below.

I usually post about my music performances but life has turned a tad
and I've been much more immersed in the video world the last few
years.

This marks the turn from being a singer who makes films to a filmmaker
who might cast herself as a singer. Among other things, it's cheaper
and I'm usually on set when I'm looking for me. The act, St. Eve, is
pretty much an archivable subject. There are no plans for continuing
the live/recording part of that particular entity.

The House of St. Eve (T.H.o.S.E.) continues to produce all the things
you know and love, plus video.

This is the first time my work has ever been properly screened for a
live audience in chairs.

Please invite anyone you think will be interested. I sometimes get
nosebleeds going this far uptown and will want company.

love,
gabrielle

Short Film and Music Video by
Galinsky, L. Gabrielle Penabaz and Peter Shapiro

with a world premiere of Willem DaFoe reading T.S. Eliot and a short
featuring Quentin Crisp's last film appearance

This Monday, February 13th from 6pm-8pm

at ABC Film and Video
303 5th Ave (10th floor, at 31st Street)
New York, NY 10016
TEL 212-686-3490

About The Work:

Galinsky's QUALITY OF LIFE: The Giuliani Years - Featuring the last
film performance of Quentin Crisp's career, "Quality of Life: The
Giuliani Years", stands as an imposing and absurd commentary on the
administration's staggering authority and triviality. The film is
fueled by a diverse array of music featuring ION Records recording
artists Buckethead, Cobra Strike, Bill Laswell, and DJ Spooky,
Galinsky and award winning director of photography Thomas Moore
utilize natural light, wide angles, and security cameras to make this
21 minute film a gritty, humorous and visceral docu-style dark comedy.
The film marks Galinsky's film directorial debut and consists of a
series of guerilla style short scenes illustrating a variation of
"QOL" arrests with a cast of assorted perps and cops. The setting is a
grim back hallway of One Police Plaza where the accused are escorted
to their court appearance and grilled along the way.

Galinsky's THE END IS WHERE WE START FROM - Features a roof top
reading by Willem DaFoe with sound design by Thomas T-Bo Linder. Shot
on 8 millimeter film with no matching sound, it's an abstract urban
window into a sliver of T.S. Eliot's Four Quartets.

Galinsky's GET OUTTA YOUR HOUSE - a poetry video with sound design by
Muata, studio musician for The The, The Talking Heads and Yellow Man.
Featuring the frenetic kenetically paced video stylings of NYC artist
Peter Shapiro.

Penabaz's VAMPIRE GEISHA TO GO: Music Video- Created for the one-off
club party, The Vampire Geisha Ball, Halloween 2005. Starring Nicole
Blackman & L. Gabrielle Penabaz Shot by Gilberto Silvany
Directed/Edited by LGP A nod to the "Geisha To Go" escort ads from
80's NYC late night cable TV. Plus - a wink to the "Memoirs of Geisha"
film promotion that suffered from having Chinese actresses, as Nicole
and Gabrielle are far from being Asian and it is also rumored that
they are not really vampires.

Penabaz's HEARTBLACK AMNESIAC: Music Video Created for the initial
promo tour of the album Elixir by ST. EVE. St. Eve is Gabrielle's
electro-rock music act that has toured in many configurations, this
one included Bec Stupak of Honeygun Labs on guitar and graphic design.
Edited by L. Gabrielle Penabaz No director or camera person, really.
Camera was placed on a tripod while we mimed like caffeinated 6th
graders.

Penabaz's THE ELIXIR EPK - Electronic Press Kit
Gabrielle explains St. Eve to the uninitiated, guerilla style. Edited by LGP

About The Artists:

Galinsky is the co-creator and co-producer of "The Manhattan Monologue
Slam" bi-coastal theatre event and is an associate producer of "True
Crime Real Punishment", a reality TV show in production with Bighouse
TV. Tonight's work features collaborations with video artist Peter
Shapiro, sound designer Thomas Linder, film maker Thomas Moore and
superlative actor Willem DaFoe and icon Quentin Crisp. More about
Galinsky at galinskyplace.com.

L. Gabrielle Penabaz resides in the Lower East Side of Manhattan
because she is lucky and the gods continue to will it. In gratitude,
she instigates a variety of livelihoods that dance around the clutches
of corporations like a soap-opera gang member waiting for his turn to
pounce. This means she can be a performance artist, singer/songwriter
(St. Eve), underground party hostess (T.H.o.S.E.), writer, VJ and
filmmaker for herself and for others, incorporating travel whenever
possible. She was a story producer for an upcoming Viacom TV show and
is now producing fashion lifestyle segments for Playgirl TV. Gabrielle
has just returned from a completely gratuitous trip to Iceland. More
